Important Message from the Founder
The success of any independent start-up business hinges on a series of things. However, most of the burden of its success is reliant on the approach of its owner/operator. Businesses usually don't fail or succeed because of one thing. It is often a mixture. You can have higher prices, with a great location and succeed. You can have a horrible location, with great prices and fail. You can have the right products and the wrong service attitude and succeed. You can have the wrong products and the right service attitude and succeed. It's never one thing that dooms a business; though to the naked eye it may seem so. This is why it's important to understand business, and your specific business, in its totality.
To make it in this business you have to make a decision before you begin your journey to owning one on how committed and flexible you will be as an owner. If you have an intolerant personality or greater commitment to your ego than your customers and learning, your tenure as an owner will be short-lived. If you’re adaptable, patient, insightful and enduring, your business can last for generations.

For first time business owners, beauty supply ownership can be a very steep learning curve. This is one of the main reasons we exist. While opening you will immediately feel the difference of being a consumer to being a retailer. From how distributors handle you to expected delivery times, there are tons of things that can derail an aspiring owner. Again, one of the main reasons we exist. You will have days you doubt yourself and listen to the wrong advice; including advice from yourself. There will be times you will feel alone. But that's normal. Just don't be a suggestion-chaser. Make decisions and stick with them. Transitioning into greatness comes with a degree of social isolation (largely because you're moving away from an old life) that will be short-lived once you stay the course.
If you're someone who needs their hands held at all times or are afraid to make decisions and stick with them, consider owning a franchised business, being an angel investor or purchasing securities. They bring less angst on day-to-day activities; but also less control and limited creativity. But if you are a leader, brave, courageous and have an affinity for retailing beauty products this may be your cup of tea. If it is, keep in mind that we are the absolute best at getting aspiring owners to their Grand Openings. We have classes, conferences and detailed training to get you there.
